A SMALL GS
Known for their large capacity adventure touring bikes, BMW have finally announced a small displacement GS model, styled like their big GS bikes, for riders who prefer lightweight, nimble motorcycles capable of eating up miles of pavement but also perform well on off-road dirt tracks. The 2017 BMW G 310 GS is a road focused dual sport that would appeal to many in the ADV community. BMW's 310 GS is powered by a single cylinder (313 cc and 25 kW / 34 hp at 9,500 RPM) 4-stroke, water-cooled engine with four valves and twin overhead camshafts, and a cylinder angled backwards resulting in lower centre of gravity. This engine meets the Euro IV standard. Inverted 41mm front forks hold a 19 inch cast aluminium wheel, 17 inch at the rear. Full capacity is 11 litres (2.9 gallons) and wet weight is 169.5 kg.
