NEW POV CAMERA
It was only a few years ago HD resolution video recording was the next big thing in camera technology. Now, it seems, 4K capture is starting to gain traction in the marketplace. Sony have just announced their new FDR-X1000V Action Cam with the main feature being 4K video. Using the same small, splash-proof POV camera design of previous action cams, the new 4K model employs a ZEISS Tessar lens that has an ultra-wide angle 170 degree field of view. The camera’s sensor is a back-illuminated Exmor R™ CMOS producing images using Sony’s pro grade XAVC S high bitrate codec. Other features include SteadyShot electronic image stabilisation, built-in GPS with data overlay through Sony’s Creator software, and a host of accessories to attach the cam to your helmet, bike, surfboard, etc.
