SOUTH AMERICAN RALLY
The route for the 2015 Dakar Rally has been announced, covering three countries starting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Set to loop through Argentina and Chile, with a short excursion into Bolivia, the riders will head across country towards Chile for two days before climbing to an altitude of 4,800 metres through the Andes mountains prior to the border crossing at Paso San Francisco, after entering Chile the race heads north through the Atacama Desert, up the Pacific Coast towards Bolivia. Following the Bolivian marathon stage, the riders then turn south for an inland run back to Buenos Aires. Starting on January the 4th, the seventh Dakar on South American soil covers over 9,000km of roads, dirt tracks and sand dunes, an extreme enduro test for riders and their machines.
