TOUGH TABLET
Brought to life as a Kickstarter crowdfunded project, the Earl Backcountry Survival Tablet is still in development, due for release in early 2014. From an adventure motorcyclists perspective, this tablet could be a good fit, mounted into a custom rally raid style front fairing to provide GPS Sat navigation. Added benefits include integrated weather sensors, a built-in AM/FM/SW/LW radio tuner and, of particular interest, a two-way radio capable of sending text or voice messages via Walkie-Talkie functionality. This would be prefect for communication with fellow riders. The unit has an E-ink glove friendly 6” screen, is IP67 protection rated with an integrated solar charging panel and runs Android OS.
