PIONEER LIGHT-WEIGHT ADVENTURE MOTO
Clews Competition Motorcycles (CCM), based in Bolton, England are developing a light-weight adventure touring motorcycle. CCM are betting on demand for an enduro capable bike that has extended overland range with comfortable all-day on-road riding, along with long service intervals typically found in road bikes. Although the design parameters are well known and this type of bike is much sought after by many adventure riders, the big motorcycle manufactures don’t play in this market segment. CCM’s GP450 Adventure Bike will start production in November 2013. Powered by a BMW designed 450cc, liquid-cooled fuel injected DOHC single cylinder engine rated at 40 hp, the GP450 Adventure has a fuel capacity of 17 litres, a dry weight of 130kg and stated 8000km service interval.
