YAMAHA'S MIDDLEWEIGHT ADVENTURE BIKE
Arguably one of the best middleweight - use straight out of the crate - around the world, go everywhere motorcycles. Sure, BMW created this market segment and, with their updated R1200 GS, they have an impressive lineup of overland adventure bikes. Looking at Japanese bike makers, Yamaha have two specialist adventure models, the XT660Z Tenere and Super Tenere, up for consideration. For the budget minded, the XT660Z has a lot going for it. Designed for long distance, all-road touring with a 23 litre tank (600 km tank range) and powered by a highly proven 660cc fuel injected liquid cooled single cylinder engine, the Tenere doesn't need lots of aftermarket modifications for that often dreamed of around the world trip.
