KTM AT THE DAKAR RALLY
KTM factory supported riders have won the Dakar Rally (Bike category) every year since 2001, excluding 2008 when there was no race. The 2012 winner, Cyril Despres, is back this year on a KTM 450 Rally machine however great rival Marc Coma, also a KTM pilot, is not competing in the 2013 Rally. As is expected, KTM has a strong presence at the Dakar Rally. Along with full support for their factory riders, KTM provides equipment, spares and support for privateer riders who have signed up to the KTM Customer Service Package for the Rally. The factory team riders are expected to do well. There’s just 15 days and more than 8,000 kms for super tough terrain to get to the finish line.
